Kodu Kwestions are wiki based kwestions (questions) and answers, designed to produce high quality information about game design and development with Kodu Game Lab. Community members can vote kwestions and answers up and down in order to indicate the quality of the content.
We’re still in beta, just for a little while
Kodu Kwestions uses awarded points to give an indication of the history of involvement of users and allows users with a certain number of points to unlock various privileges. During the beta period while the number of users and kwestions builds up, many of these restrictions have been eased. Nevertheless, the following information will give you a good understanding of how Planet Kodu Kwestions works.
Read on……
How does it work?
Planet Kodu Kwestions is for asking and answering kwestions (questions) about Kodu Game Lab.

The Kodu Kwestions toolbar.
Voting Up and Down helps identify high quality kwestions and answers
Sometimes, hopefully usually, a kwestion will be a very good one and other users will acknowledge this by voting the kwestion up. Other times a kwestion might not be well written or it may be a repeat of another kwestion, on these occasions, a kwestion will be voted down to identify it as a poor kwestion.
Each kwestion has the number of votes posted next to it so that everyone can quickly see how the Planet Kodu community has assessed it.
Likewise answers to kwestions can be voted up and down. Good answers, that are clearly written, have the correct information and answer the kwestion should be voted up. Answers that are unhelpful or don’t answer the kwestion are voted down.
Answers are ordered according to votes, this means that the highest voted answer will be the first one displayed even if it was not the first answer to the kwestion.
The exception to this rule is when the original author of the qwestion deems a lower voted answer to the “Accepted Answer” in this circumstance the accepted answer will be the first answer displayed followed by the other answers order by the number of votes, highest to lowest.
Everything can be edited
Sometimes a kwestion or an answer would be more clear, complete or accurate if it was worded differently, contained extra information or had some content removed. In order to ensure that the kwestions and answers are as complete and accurate as possible, every kwestion and answer is a wiki.
Anyone with enough points (or the author of the kwestion and answer) can edit Kodu Kwestion content and, just like a wiki, every version is kept and can be viewed by everyone. If an edit is deemed not to have improve the content the edit can be reverted to a previous version.
Sometimes editing is not enough
Sometimes a kwestion or answer cannot be improved, it might contain spam or other objectionable content. It may be a kwestion that has been asked many times before or have nothing to do with Kodu Game Lab. In these cases, a kwestion can be flagged for deletion or it can be voted to be closed. Answers can only be flagged for deletion.
Finding a Kwestion and Answer
When asking a kwestion, you will be prompted with a list of similar questions. Please look at this list as if your kwestion is a repeat of a previously asked qwestion. Kwestions that are duplicates will be voted down and it will also reduce the accuracy of the knowledge bank.
The search box is the best place to find if a kwestion has already been asked.
Open Kwestions, Closed Kwestions and Kwestions with Bounties
Open kwestions are kwestions that still need high quality answers. If you’re looking to help out (and earn points) these are the kwestions to look at. Closed kwestions are kwestions that have accepted answers. Accepted answers are generally high quality and solved the kwestion author’s problem. These are generally the best place to start.
Bounties are extra points that are added to a kwestion. An author of a kwestion can add a bounty to a kwestion in the hope that it will therefore be more appealing to others to help find an answer. When an accepted answer is identified for a bounty kwestion the allocated points are passed from the kwestion author to the kwestion answerer.
Note: Bounties are not available during the beta period.
Tags
The other method for finding kwestions and answers is to use the tags. Tags are keywords associated with a kwestion. When asking a kwestion please ensure that you add appropriate tags (look at other kwestions to see how tags are used). Some users with enough points can also add tags to a kwestion.
Reputation: Points and Badges
When trying to identify whether a answer is accurate, a good starting point is to look at the author of the answer. Kodu Kwestions employs a dual reputation system.
Badges are awarded for the continued involvement in Planet Kodu over a period of time. The more badges a user has generally indicates that has contributed to Planet Kodu over a long period of time.
Points are awarded when a user’s content is deemed to be of high quality by others. When a user’s content is voted up or accepted as an answer the user is awarded points. Conversely when a user’s content is voted down points are subtracted from the user. Points are also deducted when the user spends them. eg. voting something down, awarding a bounty….
The only way to accrue points is too ask high quality questions and give high quality answers.
